SMYAC football rules and regulations are very similar to those that the Hawks played under last season. Therefore, we expect very few changes. Three potential changes are: (1) There will be ‘American’ and ‘National’ Divisions/Conferences, which lead to more opportunities for development of our younger and less experienced kids, (2) We will probably move back to a 10 game schedule, which means less chance of 2 teams playing each other more than once during the regular season, and (3) Hawks parents will travel a little further for games. However, for the most part we will have 5 home (in Charles County) & 5 away games (in Calvert County).
 
The SMYA Hawks Board is very excited about the 2023 season and the forthcoming changes for our youth by playing in the SMYAC. 


 ****Tackle Football Registration*******

Early Bird Registration 
·   February 20,2024 through May 31,2024
·   Registration Price is $225 per participant. No sibling discount during this time.
·   Deposit of $125 per player (non-refundable)
·   Early Registration must be PAID IN FULL by May 31,2024. 
**If the account has not been paid in full by May 31,2024 the Early  Registration Discount will not be valid and you will be responsible for the Regular Registration price of $250.00.
Regular Registration:
·    June 1,2024 through July 27,2024
·   Registration Price is $250.00 per participant. During this time a $25 sibling discount (max of 2) will be applied at check-out. 
·   Deposit of $125.00 per player (non-refundable) 
·   Registration must be PAID IN FULL by July 27, 2024. No equipment will be issued until balanced is paid in full.
  Late Registration:
·   Begins July 28, 2024
·   Registration Price is $265.00 per participant. During this time a $25 sibling discount (max of 2) will be applied at check-out 
·   Must be paid in full at the time of registration

****Flag Football Registration (6 years old and under)****

Flag Football Registration opens February 20, 2024 and runs through July 31, 2024. Registration cost is $90 per participant and is non-refundable. 


 SMYA Payment & Refund Policy 
 
Registration must be PAID IN FULL by July 27,2024. All registration payments are to be made directly to SMYA Hawks Football and Cheerleading Organization. Acceptable forms of payment: Cash, Credit Card, CashApp ($smyahawks/Johnette Hill, put child's name in the note section). Please note some teams may collect additional funds to cover game day snacks, breast cancer awareness apparel and homecoming festivities. These fees are separate from registration cost and will be discussed and collected by either your Head Coach and or Team Mom. These funds are not paid to the organization. 

Football equipment and or uniforms will not be issued until balance is paid in full. If a parent chooses to remove their child from the SMYA Football and/or Cheerleading Program during that child’s 1st week of practice, parents will receive a registration refund of half the registration fees paid for their child to participate in football and/or cheerleading.  Initial football or cheerleading deposits are non-refundable. 
  
 NOTE: The football and cheerleading refund period ends August 2, 2024.  Any football and cheerleading registration fees taken after August 2, 2024 are non-refundable.
